The Epic X Skeleton watch itself, for example, is a masterpiece. With a large case with spider-like lugs, a skeletonized movement that clearly shows the inner workings, and a sense of scale, the basic titanium case is eye-catching in itself. Now, swap out most of the metal for gold and even more precious gems to create Jacob & Co's latest jewelry watch.

Yes. Understated is not their style. Of course, the design is not lacking in details; the lugs are sleek and run through the dial, and the orange sapphires add to the charm. The unique color of the gem also blends perfectly with the more common baguette diamonds on the bezel and the yellow gold in between.

The inclusion of sapphires means the skeleton of the watch is a little thin, but you can still clearly see the manually wound JCAM03 movement. This is undoubtedly a good thing, considering the effort Jacob & Co put into creating this vertical movement. The seconds hand may not be the most legible hand in the world, but if you insist on a tourbillon, you will obviously use it.

We can't help but love Jacob & Co. They show their funny side in the most wonderful way. Even if you don't want to wear gemstones that would make Gemfields jealous, you have to admire their boldness - and the Epic X Skeleton watch is exactly that.
